The necessary money for supplying HM fire ship Prometheus is insufficient to defray the expenses, despite every care being take in the expenditure. Her coppers are as large as any sloop of war so the quantity of coals and the expense of candles is much greater than many sloops. The sum he is allowed is £21 for 84 days which is less than many gun brigs who do not have half the expense. The Purser of HM fire ship Lightning was allowed to draw for 86 men from the day she was commissioned. Asks him to apply for further relief.
