Folios 301-302: William Prowse, HMS Sirius, Malta. Reports his battle with a French squadron off Civita Vecchia during which he captured the sloop La Bergere of 18 guns commanded by Capitaine de Vaisseau Chaunay Duclos and drove off three brigs and five gun vessels. Recommends his First Lieutenant, William Hepenstal, for promotion, encloses lists of the enemy vessels, those killed and wounded aboard HMS Sirius and an account of battle damage.
Folios 303-304: enclosed with folios 301-302. Captain William Prowse, HMS Sirius, Malta. Lists the nine French vessels involved in the action, the nine killed and 20 wounded aboard his ship and gives an account of the damage she suffered.
