Folios 278-279: Charles Papps Price, 5 Westminster Street, to Rear Admiral John Markham, [First Sea Lord], the Admiralty. Reports he has received a letter from his son, Lieutenant George Price, reporting that the gun brig HMS Eclipse has now been paid off at Portsmouth because of storm damage and that another gun brig, HMS Richmond, is just about to enter service. He has written to Mr Grey asking that his son be given command of HMS Richmond and hopes that because the Admiral helped him secure his son's promotion when he was sent to him by Admiral the Earl St Vincent in May 1802, he might now be able to recommend his son for the new command.
