Folios 274-275: Charles Papps Price, 26 Norfolk Street. Queries the rate of his pay as a Commander in HMS Badger between May 1798 and April 1799 when he was Commandant of the Islands of St Marcou. He has been paid at the rate of six shillings a day, but he had understood from the enclosed letter [endorsed in pencil to day "This letter does not appear."] from Sir Evan Nepean that he would be paid eight shillings a day. Asks that the Admiralty pay him for his period at the rate of a Commander of a sloop of war from the date of his promotion to that rank.
Folios 276-277: enclosed with folios 274-275. [Endorsed in pencil to say "Omitted to be enclosed in Captain Price's letter to Mr Marsden of the 8th of February 1806"]. Letter dated 28 September 1798 from Sir Evan Nepean, the Admiralty, to Commander Charles Papps Price, HMS Badger, Isles St Marcou. Acknowledges Commander Price's letter about the establishment of HM Gun Vessel Badger, confirms that he will be paid at the normal rate for a Commander.
