Folios 235-236: George Prevost, HMS Saracen, Spithead. Reports the circumstances in which Gunner Thomas Smith deserted at Bermuda in April when given permission to go ashore, and how when the Gunner's cabin was searched he found 20 pounds of gunpowder and various Gunner's stores which had been reported lost or stolen. He has given an acting warrant as Gunner to Gunner's Mate Richard Goatly, asks for this to be confirmed.
Folios 237-238: enclosed with folios 235-236. Warrant dated 23 April 1806 signed by Commander George Prevost, HMS Saracen, at sea, appointing Richard Goatly as acting Gunner.
