Folios 191-192: Richard Piercy, HMS Bellette, Sheerness. Reports that his vessel's fitting-out has been delayed as he has neither a Master nor any Lieutenants. He has asked the Navy Board to appoint a Master and asks that Lieutenants be ordered to join the ship immediately. Recommends the Purser of HMS Vesuvius be appointed, as he has already secured the approval of Vice Admiral Bartholomew Samuel Rowley and Commander James Lillicrap. Adds he has just received word of the appointment of Lieutenant Abraham Hughes.
