Folios 148-149: Charles Pelly, Upton Essex. When was on HMS Beaver in the Elbe he forbade the merchant ship the [Gruffinen] from entering the harbour. The Master took measures that resulted in the owners suing Pelly for extra expenses incurred. He asks that Mr Fair who was Master of HMS Beaver at the time and is now Master of HMS Amethyst be released to give evidence at the trial.
