Folios 153-154: Richard Poulden, Regulating Officer, Whitby Rendezvous. Advises he impressed Francis Whipp, Sea Fencible, belonging to Captain D'Arcy Preston's district, because after examination, he confirmed he had been a Fisherman on the River Humber about 3 years ago and for a short time became part owner of a Fishing Smack. Advises he then came to Whitby in July 1803 as a labourer, enrolled as a Sea Fencible and in March 1804 he took to sea in a Coastal vessel. Advises the only difference between his own account and the informer is that the latter states he was Master of the [Inforement?] Smack when lost, which Francis Whipp denies, and he also states that he was never examined by Captain Preston when the late discharge took place, but by Lieutenant Sproule.
Folios 155-156: enclosed with folios 153-154. Letter dated 5 January 1805 by Captain Richard Poulden, Regulating Officer, Whitby Rendezvous to the Admiralty. Encloses Francis Whipp's protection as a Fisherman.
