Description

Folios 205-206: William Allen Proby, HMS Amelia. In obedience to a memorandum from Rear Admiral Bartholomew Samuel Rowley he inform that the description James Campbells Protection answers to his person Adam Demery does not answer to the protection. He served last war in HMS York.

Folios 207-208: enclosure with folios 205-206. Letter dated 16 March 1804 by William Marsden, Admiralty Office, to Captain Lord William Allen Proby, HMS Amelia, Woolwich. As per a report dated 20 February 1804 upon the cases of James Campbell and Adam Demery said to be Americans, on board HMS Amelia. He has their Lordships commands to direct you to discharge the first with the usual certificate, and to state in what respect the other does not answer the description in the enclosed certificate [not present] Folios 209-210: enclosure with folios 205-206. Letter dated 3 April 1804 by William Marsden, Admiralty Office, to Captain Lord William Allen Proby, HMS Amelia, Woolwich. States Mr Erving, the American Consul having applied for the discharge of Adam Denery said to be an American and on board HMS Amelia. He requests a report on this man case.
