Folios 178-179: d'Arcy Preston, Regulating Captain, Whitby. Encloses list of Fencibles enrolled since his last return and weekly report for the district [no longer present]. Acknowledging Mr Marsden's letter 2 August instructing him to discharge Tradesmen and Mechanics from the Sea Fencibles and that others who've been at sea can serve onshore. Asks can those who are appraised as not having been to sea be discharged as not exempt from ballot for the army.
