Description

Folios 351-352: Charles Vinicombe Penrose, Padstow. Knowing that since the start of the war preparations have led to the view that an invasion by the French was likely to be attempted his current appointment has made him more aware of the defence of the country. Of concern is the vast length of the coast in Cornwall and its defence. Suggests how Block and Signal Houses should be constructed, which guns should be installed and who should occupy them and sets out the advantages.
