Folios 337-338: John Pengelley, HMS Pegasus,Spithead. On arrival at Gibraltar from Egypt when making arrangements with the small force which was there to protect the convoy against the Revanche French frigate and two corvettes, which were at the mouth of the Gutt, ordered William Price, commanding the Abundance store ship to give out instructions, collect the convoy and lead them through the Gutt and continue ahead of the fleet during passage home through the Needles to the Motherbank. He performed with "unremitting attention and activity" and recommend him as an able navigator and deserving officer.
