Folios 236-237: Henry Paulet, London. Replying to Admiralty letter of 22 February with regard to John Collett, Pilot states that he served under his command on HMS Defence and was perfectly satisfied with his conduct. He was with him for a short time as he was employed in the [?] squadron off Brest under the orders of Sir James Saumarez during the winter months that he carried the ships in and out of Douarnenez Bay during the night. Believes he is deserving of any indulgences.
