Folios 207-208: Robert Paul, HMS Explosion off Woolwich. Replying to Admiralty letter of 29 July confirms that Alexander Brown, who has served nearly four years is an active young man. He lost one eye but has good sight in the other and is very active aloft. Says his age is 17 years and 8 months but believe him to be 20. He volunteered for the service and hopes his having detained him on board will be approved. Returns the enclosures (not with letter).
