Folios 450-451: Charles Papps Price, HMS Badger, Isle of Marcou (probably Isles Saint-Marcouf off Normandy). He reports that during a fierce gale that the row boat Victoire, attached to HMS Badger, foundered and as yet has not proved to be recoverable. The gale continued with the result that HMS Badger's launch also foundered. But as he has three hawsers attached to her he is hopeful that when the storm abates she will be recovered. A further consequence of the storm has been that the roofs of the buildings were damaged. He has sent men to repair them. Additionally, the schooner Two Friends from Guernsey whose master is George White, was driven onto the rocks where, very damaged she remains. Most of her cargo is lost. He encloses a note of the state and condition of his ship and that of HMS Sandfly. (Not enclosed).
