Description

Folios 397-398: Israel Pellew, HMS Cleopatra, Spithead. States as Directions of the Admiralty he encloses a Copy of the last official letter from Admiral Sir William Parker, a Copy of the Ship's Log from 24 November 1801 to his arrival at Spithead and a List of Officers [not present] of HMS Cleopatra. He informs that Mr Richard Choyce Sowden is a Gentleman, served his time and said to be a man of Fortune.

Folio 399: enclosure with folios 397-398. Letter dated 2 May 1801 by Admiral Sir William Parker, Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels in the River St Lawrence, and along the Coast of Nova Scotia: the Islands of St John and Cape Breton, the Bay of Fundy and at and above the Islands of Bermuda or Somers Island. To Mr Joseph Gulston Garland. Letter of appointment as Lieutenant on HMS Cleopatra.

Folios 400-401: enclosure with folios 397-398. Letter dated 1 June 1799 by Admiral George Vandeput, Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels in the Gulf of St Lawrence, the Coast of Nova Scotia etc. etc. etc to Mr James Riley. Letter appointing Mr James Riley Boatswain of HMS Cleopatra.

Folio 402: enclosure with folios 397-398. Letter dated 4 September 1801 by Israel Pellew, HMS Cleopatra, to Mr Henry Greggs Farish Surgeon. Letter of appointment as Surgeon of HMS Cleopatra.

Folios 403-406: enclosure with folios 397-398. Copy of Ships Log - HMS Cleopatra. 24 November 1801 to 7 December 1801.
