Folios 346-347: Richard Peacocke, HMS Gaiete. [His Agent] - Thomas Maude, Downing Street, Westminster. States as agent to Captain Richard Peacocke of HMS Gaiete now serving in the West Indies he states he appears by a to his Father dated off Guadeloupe the 9 October 1800 to have sent him his Commission to be laid before the Admiralty for Confirmation; but as the same has never come into his hands, he has reason to believe it is lost. Request he be given a new Commission as Commander of HMS Gaiete, as it will appear by Admiral John Thomas Duckworth's, returns now in the Office, that he was appointed to that ship on Captain Edward Durnford King's removal to HMS Leviathan, who he understands has had a new Commission.
