Folios 274-275: Charles William Paterson, HMS San Fiorenzo, Portland Roads. Reply to letter dated 6 March 1801 with their directions to leave behind the vessels bound to the Coast of Portugal and acquaint the Masters of them - that they are not to leave their present anchorage until they shall be further instructed, which he requests you inform them that this will be done and that he has given Captain Edward Rotherham of HMS Lapwing to remain until he receives further orders.
