Folios 268-269: Charles William Paterson, HMS San Fiorenzo, Portland Roads. Reports leaving Cowes Roads on the morning of the 18 February 1801 with HMS Lapwing and Fifty One Sail of Convoy (as per the enclosed list) [not present]. Due to a change in the wind he anchored here today for the safety of the Convoy and will sail as soon as the wind changes. Before he left Spithead he detached Captain George Parker in HMS Santa Margarita to Falmouth to Collect the Trade, as per their Orders.
