Folios 249-250: Charles Dudley Pater, HMS Shannon, Yarmouth Roads. He acquaints that in January 1801 being then on a cruise in the North Sea under orders to detain and bring into Port all vessels of every description belonging to Denmark and Sweden, that might he then fall in with, in consequence of which order he captured on 23 January 1801 a Swedish Brig called Turtle laden with Pitch and Tar the produce of Sweden and bound to Holland. He encloses a Bill of expenses remaining to be paid on the above vessel by him. As he was under orders he requests an order for the charges to be paid.
