Folios 200-201: Charles Dudley Pater, HMS Shannon, Leith Roads. He reports that being Senior Officer at this Port; that the Master of a Vessel taken by a French Privateer arrived from the Texel and this day has given him then following account. [Report on the action. Mentions:-] the Enterprize chartered by Mr Pyrring[?] Store Keeper of Woolwich Yard, Sailed on 22 January 1801 without Convoy by order of the Store Keeper; the Master Mr Alexander Richardson reports the vessel had 78 Tons of Stores of different kinds calculated for Ships of the Line as well as smaller Ships of War, was Captured off Flamborough Head on 2 February 1801 by La Victoire, French Privateer of 14 Guns and 70 Men, the vessel was sent to the Texel and in going in the store ship was lost on the Haake Sand, almost all the stores have been saved by the Dutch who claimed the property, the French having left her in that state.
