Reports that J J Barteling, one of twelve men late of the Batavian Republic guardship, had no objection to serving in a British man of war but declined to volunteer for the service of the Duke of Orange. They were told that if the Prince was reinstated they would be allowed to leave the ship. Refers to an enclosed letter [not present].
