Folios 207-208: Home Briggs Popham, HMS Romney off the Bill of Portland. After strong winds were followed by calm weather he sent a lieutenant to direct the ships under Popham's command to be ready to sail. Mr Kallaway had agreed to supply the ships with beer and water but refused to do so. Some water and bread has been obtained. A man named William Chick has deserted after being given permission to visit his sister, a housekeeper at Gloucester Lodge.
