Description

Folios 203-204: Home Briggs Popham, HMS Romney, Portland Roads. Refers to the enclosed letter from Captain Sauce reporting the loss of his foresail. Popham will try to obtain another.

Folios 205-206: enclosure with folios 203-204. Letter dated 3 November 1800 by Robert Sauce, HMS Sensible, Portland Roads to Pophma. Reports that one of the cutters was rendered unserviceable by tempestuous weather. On the same night the foresail was blown out of the boltrope and is not worth repairing.
