Description

Folios 112-113: Benjamin Page, London. He writes at the request of John Edwards, HMS Sceptre, to ask that the commission given to Lieutenant McLean by Rear Admiral Pringle, is confirmed.

Folios 114-115: enclosed with folios 112-113. Commission dated 11 August 1796 by Sir George Elphinstone, Rear Admiral of the Blue. He appoints Benjamin McLean as Lieutenant on HMS Sceptre.

Folios 116-117: enclosed with folios 112-113. Commission dated 29 November 1797 by Thomas Pringle, Rear Admiral of the Red. He appoints Benjamin McLean as Lieutenant on HMS Sceptre.

Folio 118: enclosed with folios 112-113. Commission dated 22 June 1800 by Peter Rainier, Vice Admiral of the Blue, Commander in Chief, East Indies. He appoints Benjamin McLean as Lieutenant on HMS Braave.

Folio 119: enclosed with folios 112-113. Certificate dated 20 November, 1797 issued at the Cape of Good Hope to Lieutenant Benjamin McLean.
