Description

Folios 72-73: Benjamin Page, HMS Inflexible, Torbay. He encloses details of the Gentlemen to whom mhe has given orders to act as Lieutenants.

Folios 74-75: enclosed with folios 72-73. Letter dated 14 April 1800 by Edward Marsh, HMS Wassenaar to Benjamin Page. He asks that Alexander Bruce is appointed as an acting Lieutenant.

Folios 76-77: enclosed with folios 72-73. Letter dated 9 April 1800 by Benjamin Page, HMS Inflexible. He writes to the Captains of the squadron orderinjg them to send him details of Midshipmen and mates who have the necessary skill and experience to become Lieutenants.

Folios 78-79: enclosed with folios 72-73. Letter dated 9 April 1800 by George Scott, HMS Stately, at sea, to Benjamin Page, HMS Inflexible. He reports that Ist Lieutenant Barrington Mansfield was left at Deal as he was sick. He asks that a replacement is appointed.

Folios 80-81: enclosed with folios 72-73. Letter dated 16 April 1800 by Valentine Collard, HMS Vestal, Torbay, to Captain Page. Lieutenant William Croad is in sick quarters. He asks for a replacement.

Folio 82: enclosed with folios 72-73. Thomas Wilson, HMS Expedition. Letter to Benjamin Page, HMS Inflexible, recommending Charles Anthony for promotion.

Folio 83: enclosed with folios 72-73. Thomas Elphinstone, HMS Alkmaar, at Sea. Letter dated 8 April 1800 to Benjamin Page, HMS Inflexible. He reports that the Hon. Henry Lamour who was appointed as 1st Lieutenant has not joined the ship. His 3rd Lieutenant is sick. He asks that a Lieutenant is appointed.
