Folios 227-228: enclosed with folios 225-226. Letter dated 1 March 1799 from Lieutenant John Stokes, HMS Hound, Sheerness, to Captain Sir Edward Pellew, HMS Impetueux, Spithead. Explains that although he has been appointed to HMS Impetueux, he has not been able to join because Commander John Wood will not release him until he is superceded.
