Folios 275-276: Charles Papps Price, HMS Badger, Isles St Marcou [Îles Saint-Marcouf]. He reports that he has sent HMS Grand Falconer Tender to Portsmouth with letters for Mr [William] Windham, with directions for her to return immediately with Provisions. Agreeable to advice formerly received from Sir Richard Strachan, he has sent Owen Callachan a Royal Marine for Mutinous expressions and very suspicious behaviour, respecting of General Auvergne to send him a man in lieu, as he appears to him and the Officers a very unfit man amongst young soldiers so near the enemy. Reports there is no additional force of the enemy near us, one large Gun boat and two Cutters protect their fishermen between us and La Hogue, the Gun Brig is too heavy for our light Tenders, or he would soon stop her parading.
