Folios 242-243: Charles Papps Price, HMS Badger, Isles St Marcou [Îles Saint-Marcouf]. Reports that on Friday morning last all the Large Gun Briggs and Schooners, got out of Lattogue[?] into the Road and were embarking all day; in the evening, the Flatts came out, and eleven of them rowed within shore, as a feint against the Islands, whilst the Gun Vessels anchored in Line, between the Batteries of La Houge and T[?]. Captain Henry Hotham with HMS Adamant, HMS Cormorant and HMS Champion, Tender, kept under sail near them all night; in the morning, it being calm, the Gun Vessels got under way, at high water, and rowed with HMS Elb, along shore; and got round Cape Barfleur, HMS Adamant and HMS Cormorant making every exertion to get near them. The eleven Flatts are now in Signy River. He sent immediately, off Harve, to acquaint Sir Richard John Strachan of the circumstance, who informed him he proceeds immediately, Westward after them.
