Folios 259-260: Edward Pellew, HMS Indefatigable, Scilly. Enclosing a letter from the crew of the Chasse Marie. The Duke of Clarence under his command who refused to carry his letters to Penzance being afraid of capture. The 5 Chasse Maries contain 40+ men and he suggests that they are entered into the gunboats in Plymouth, the crew of the Duke of Clarence being willing.
Folios 261-262: enclosure with folios 259-260. Letter dated 24 January 1798 from the crew of the Chasse Marie the Duke of Clarence to the commander of HMS Indefatigable in French detailing their complaint.
