Folios 227-228: Home Riggs Popham, Sackville Street, London. Encloses a letter received from the referees appointed by the Treasury to examine and determine the differences between the Transport Board and Mr Parish. Explains that the Transport Board furnished the gentleman to whom the reference was made, with a complete copy of the report when they should have furnished them with only the extracts pertaining to Mr Parish. As a result he had no alternative but to provide the merchants with a copy of the letter he sent to the Admiralty in January 1797. States that he hope there will be no further action on this matter.
Folios 229-230: enclosure with folios 227-228. Copy of letter dated 2 March 1797 from Alexander Champion, Joseph Cotton and John Dettel, London to Captain Home Riggs Popham. Letter from the referees about their opinion on the Transport Board disagreements with Messrs Parish & Co.
