Folios 181-182: Encloses a character reference for John Atkinson [folios 181-182] received from Commodore [John] Blanket and requests the Admiralty consider payment of pay and prize money for a previous period.
Folios 183-184: enclosure with folios 181-182. Letter dated 8 December 1797 from Captain John Blankett, 34 Mortimer Street, to Captain William Pierrepont, HMS Naiad, Downes. Character reference for John Atkinson, who served under him on HMS America as Captain of the Foretop for two years before the ship was paid off.
