Folios 157-158: Thomas Parr, HMS Standard, Grimsby Road, River Humber. States on representing to Admiral Adam Duncan Commander in Chief etc. in the North Seas the necessity of a Decked Boat, for the Service of His Majesty's Line of Battle Ships in this River, it being dangerous & distant for open Boats. In reply to which he ordered him to enquire of the Regulating Officer if he had any such, which, should he be possessed of; to make use of her for that Service, but he not having any, He was to enquire the Price of a Vessel, which would answer this Service; and acquaint you therewith. He informs that Captain Edward Edwards [Regulating Officer - Hull] has no such Vessel & that he has agreed for one of 22 Tons Burthen which will be of infinite use for £1-5s-0d Per Day. this meeting with approbation, He shall retain her for this Service, during the stay of the Line of Battle Ships in the Humber, requesting Instructions therein.
