Folios 131-132: George Parker, HMS Santa Margarita, Dublin Bay. Reports that he sailed on 1 March 1797 with HMS Champion & HMS Orestes but finding that he did not gain ground and a Gale coming from the Southward, he was oblijed to return in order to prevent the Ships from being driven up the North Channel. On the first day of his sailing he dispatched Lieutenant [Thomas Dorsett] Birchall in the Ross Revenue Cutter last night with intelligence that the enemy had quitted the Coast. He has received orders from Vice Admiral Robert Kingsmill to proceed with the Convoy to Portsmouth which he willexecute at the first favourable opportunity.
