Folios 127-128: George Parker, HMS Santa Margarita, Hamoaze. Reports that Lieutenant [John] Keenan of HMS Santa Margarita impressed John Barker an apprentice belonging to the Jane of Yarmouth in consequence of a clause in the instructions stating that "Landsmen betaking themselves to the Sea service (of what age soever they shall be) until they shall have served full two years, to be computed from the time of their first going to Sea" He having served senen years as a Miller previous to his going to sea, and having been two years & three months at Sea: He considered him undrer the above description; the Master of the vessel having informed him that it is his intention to enter an Action against him for the detention of his apprentice; He requests that their Solicitors be order to defend the said action, or if they consider his action wrong he is given an order to discharge him.
