Folios 280-281: Henry Pemberton, Regulating Officer, Chester. Is sending his weekly returns. John Anderson a deserter from the army deserted from a ship when sent to Liverpool. He was taken yesterday again and sent to Liverpool with four others.
Folios 282-283: enclosure with folios 280-281. Letter dated 27 August 1795 by Evan Nepean to Henry Pemberton, Regulating Officer, Chester. He has sent John Anderson to Liverpool.
Folios 284-285 enclosure with folios 285-286. Letter dated 1 September 1795 by Smith Child, Liverpool. John Anderson, army deserter, was on HMS Terpsichore and then sent to HMS Revolutionaire from whence he deserted last June. He wants to join HMS Commerce de Marseilles. He was first to join and is too good a man to be made an example of.
