Description (What the record is about)

Folios 235-236: Charles William Paterson, HMS Gorgon, the Nore. Reports that he arrived on Monday, but as he expected Vice Admiral John Dalrymple to order him to proceed immediately, he did not report earlier. He has now been ordered to discharge the Pilot into HMS Russell and then to proceed to the Downs, but as the Admiral and the Master Intendant at Sheerness tell him there are no other Pilots available he has applied to the Navy Board in London.
