Folios 210-211: Thomas Pasley, HMS Bellerophon, Torbay. Reports his arrival yesterday, and that previously he met HMS Orestes which had parted company with Admiral Earl Howe off Lands End. His ship and HMS Phaeton tried to find the Channel Fleet, without success, but Captain Sir Andrew Douglas later told him that on Friday night he had seen lights to the East which he thought was the fleet going up the English Channel. He sent HMS Phoenix to Falmouth to bring out HMS Latona, but Captain Edward Thornbrough has never rejoined. Having reached the end of his cruise off the Lizard, he has now sent HMS Phaeton and HMS Phoenix to Rendezvous No 6 to wait for the fleet. Encloses a copy of his last letter.
