Folios 246-247: Robert O'Brien, Regulating Captain, Limerick. Has received Admiraly instructions of 7 May to raise as many men as possible. Has currently has no receiving vessel at Limerick and the Rendezvous is as fullas the Gang can care for this is not in his power. Reports that the Mayor and Magistrates have agreed a regulation, to which principal part of boat owners have subscribed which will advantage the service. Every boat over ten tons shall have a Master and other men protected on condition that such boats have an apprentice bound for three years to be above the age of 12 but under 18 years. However, the merchants have declined to agree with the regulation and anticipates many applications for the discharge of those impressed. Requests authorsation to grant Protections when the details are finally settled. Has not yet heard if the Landrail Cutter has been refitted.
