Folios 412-413: Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Clyde, the Downs. He returns the enclosures of Mr Barrow's letter of 28th concerning the four Riggers impressed by the Clyde. He states that it was three Riggers involved and he has forwarded the Admiralty the order for their discharge to Rear Admiral Wells at Sheerness. The Captain recalls W. [Huffain's ?] letter that only one of the men had been employed as stated. The letter of 27th concerning John Kerr and john Rippingill have been forwarded to Rear Admiral Wells.
Folios 414-415: enclosure with folios 412-413. Letter dated 27 July 1807 by Solomon Huffam and Son, Limehouse, to the Admiralty. Reports that having completed the rigging of HMS Snake at Chatham, the men were ordered to London to rigg the York. They were impressd by HMS Clyde and and three others. They are a great loss and he asks for their immediate release. PS. He has spoken to Commodore Owen who cannot relase them without an Admiralty order.
