Folios 235-236: Edward William Owen, HMS Clyde, Walmer Road. Following the promotion of Lieutenant Payne, he recommends Lieutenant George Frederic Rich of HMS Rosario for the vacancy. The latter has served with the Captain. At his time however this would be an inconvenience to his private affairs.
