Folios 229-230: Edward William Owen, HMS Clyde, Walmer Road. He applied once before for permission to hire a person to be Master of the Atalanta Tender attached to the Clyde. The Captain acknowledges that Mr. Edward Tapley was ordered to be discharged from the [Ruby?] for that purpose if the conduct of the latter was satisfactory and to be paid as a 2nd Master. Tapley was fully competent and Captain Jackson of HMS Mosquito has applied for him. Captain Owen asks for permission to hire a replacement for the Tender,
