Folios 215-216: Edward William Owen, HMS Clyde, Walmer Road. Following the refusal to have a Clerk appointed, he copies a letter, possibly a mistake stating that a Clerk may be paid £40 per year.
Folio 216: enclosure with folios 215-216. Copy of a letter dated 5th March 1806 by the Admiralty to Commodore Owen. Concerning the rate of pay for the person employed as the Captain's Clerk, £40 per annum is allowed.
