Folios 178-179: Edward William Owen, HMS Clyde, Dungeness. Acknowledges the request for information, conveyed by Captain Hopkins of the Satellite and a letter from Mr. Tucker. This concerns Andrew Brown, Second Mate of the Sally who was impressed and apparently also John Marshall, Second Mate and the abuse of their Master by Lieutenant Dixon. The Lieutenant denies the accusation. The letter is enclosed.
Folios 180-181: enclosure with folios 178-179. Letter dated 16 June 1806 by Daniel Bennett, [Owner?] of the Sally, Rotherhithe, to the Admiralty. He states that Mr. Dixon, Lieu tent on HM Zebra Gun Brigg came on board the Sally, under Captain Marshall, while she was on her homeward bound passage off Beachy. Dixon impressed the Mate, Andrew Brown and grossly abused Captain Marhsall. The latter is now lacking his Mate and Log book therefore unable to enter his ship at the Custom House and obtain the bounty allowed by Parliament.
