Description

Folios 165-176: Edward William Owen, HMS Clyde, Dungeness. Responding to Mr. Tucker's letter for information on Thomas Palmer and James Hay, who have voluntarily entered.

Folios 167-168: enclosure with folios 165-166. Letter dated 10 June 1806 by John [Boul?] Water Lane to the Admiralty. Asks for the discharge of Thomas palmer and James Hay of the Betsey of London, Southern Fishery. The men were impressed in the Downs and put on HMS Clyde but not producing their Protections in time. Their Protection documents are enclosed.

Folios 169-170: enclosure with folios 165-166. Protection Template dated 22 September 1804 by Commissioners for the Admiralty: Sir Philip Stephens, Sir John Colpoy and Philip Patton, Sea Lord. To all Commanders and Officers of HM's Navy. Protection for Thomas Palmer aged 21 years, Line-Manager, the Betsey, Southern Whale Fishery.

Folios 171-172: enclosure with folios 165-166. Protection Template dated 22 September 1804 by Commissioners for the Admiralty: Sir Philip Stephens, Sir John Colpoy and Philip Patton, Sea Lord. To all Commanders and Officers of HM's Navy. Protection for James Hay aged 24 years, Line-Manager, the Betsey, Southern Whale Fishery.
