Folios 130-131: Edward William Owen, HMS Clyde, Downs. Replies to a request for information on HMS Thrasher and Rifleman. They have boxes of five [components?] in a magazine fitted for that purpose while cruising. If they are to be prepared as fire vessels, they are distributed in the upper works and rigging. It would take half an hour to prepare them and it is likely they are ready for any service. A more detailed report can be prepared.
