Folios 401-402: Robert Dudley Oliver, HMS Mars, Portsmouth. Lieutenant Wlliam Hannah on whom command devolved on the death of Captain Duff in action, reports that Lieutenant James Black was acting as first Lieutenant at the end of the action on 21st October 1805 and his conduct was highly meritorious. George Dallas Barclay and James Wilkie have passed their examinations but Lieutenant Hannah thinks Mr George Barclay to be most deserving of promotion.
