Folio 375: Robert Dudley Oliver, HMS Melpomene, off Falmouth. He spoke to HMS Princess Charlotte from Tortola off the Skelligs. He encloses a newspaper (not present) with all the information he was able to obtain from her. Also he heard thatthe French had arrived at Tortola and landed 500 Men at St Domingo. The squadron of Rear Admiral Cochrane was seen on 8 April 1805 from St Kitts steering Westwards.
