Folios 298-299: Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Immortalité, off Boulogne. Reports that Thomas Forster is entitled to his discharge and will be released at the first opportunity. Postscript. William Brightman is not being discharged because he had been to sea before the date of his indentures, but James Greenwood will be discharged as directed. The four apprentices mentioned in the Admiralty's letter of 2 June have been discharged and sent to London in an East India ship.
Folios 300-301: enclosed with folio 298. Letter dated 24 May 1803 from J Galloway, 10 Parish Street, Southwark, to Captain Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Immortalité, the Downs. Asks Captain Owen to follow the Admiralty's orders and release William Brightman and James Greenwood, apprentices to George Barker, Master and owner of the Newton of Hull.
Folio 302: attached to folio 303. Affidavit dated 10 May 1803 and sworn by Richard Forster of South Shields, Master of the Isabella of Newcastle, before Justice of the Peace Richard Foley at the Public Office, Shadwell. Swears that on 7 May his vessel was boarded by an officer from HMS Immortalité in the Long Reach who impressed Carpenter Thomas Forster.
Folios 303-303A: enclosed with folios 298-299. Petition from Richard Forster, Master of the Isabella of Newcastle, to the Admiralty. Seeks the discharge of Carpenter Thomas Forster, who was impressed on 7 May in Long Reach by an officer from HMS Immortalité.
