Folio 275: Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Immortalité, Long Reach. Reports that the Master of the ship from which William Blakey was impressed applied for his release and that he has now been discharged.
Folio 276: attached to folio 275. Letter dated 11 May 1803 from John Aughton to the Admiralty. Seeks the discharge of William Blakey, Carpenter, who has been impressed aboard HMS Immortalité and apprentice William Fenwick, who is aboard HMS Melpomene.
Folio 278: enclosed with folio 275. Affidavit dated 11 May 1803 and sworn by John Aughton of Sunderland, Co Durham, Master of the Hunter. Swears that Carpenter Thomas Blakey was impressed aboard HMS Immortalité in Long Reach despite his own affidavit that Blakey was in fact the ship's carpenter, and that apprentice William Fenwick was impressed aboard HMS Melpomene at Deptford despite the fact that he produced an Admiralty protection and is under 18.
